The radio and podcasting industries are an exciting part of the contemporary media landscape, which is dealing with the challenges and opportunities that abound through continuous technological innovation, changes in media ownership, audience fragmentation and social media channels. 

This major will introduce you to the radio broadcasting and podcasting industries. It has a substantial practical component in radio/podcast production that explores the contemporary position of radio and its relationships with other media, especially online platforms. You’ll learn advanced theory and practical skills in radio, audio, news, visual and broadcast production. You’ll develop writing, voicing, interviewing, presentation, communication, expression, researching and editing skills. You’ll learn about recent and established theories and principles in audio and audiovisual documentary works and apply them to the contemporary digital environment. And you’ll collaborate with peers to produce diverse media productions.

• You’ll acquire practical skills in our state-of-the-art radio studio. Award-winning community radio station 2SER is also based on campus. 
• Through guided workshops, you’ll develop production skills and apply them to an individual or group production. 
• You’ll work on numerous projects such as podcasts, radio broadcasts, digital music production and interactive media.
