AU09 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electronics Engineering) Macquarie University

  • THÔNG TIN CHUNG

Electronic components, devices and systems are everywhere in our modern lives. Mobile phones, TVs, cameras and smart watches are all examples of electronic devices we’d struggle to live without. Electronics is also embedded in many other areas of our modern society, including telecommunication networks, manufacturing, computers, transport, power generation and distribution, entertainment, consumer appliances, environmental control and medicine.

This degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills you’ll require to design future electronic technologies at the cutting edge and develop embedded systems in the electronics industry. You’ll develop advanced theoretical and technical knowledge of electronics engineering to identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems, including the design, analysis, operation, and performance of electrical components, circuits and electronic systems. You’ll learn to apply appropriate circuit modelling, measurement and simulation techniques, and use industry-standard circuit design software tools to solve problems across a broad range of electronics engineering topics. You’ll also learn to design, implement, test, deploy and consider the long-term maintenance of large integrated (electronic, mechanical, software) systems where the electronics forms the whole or part of the solution.

    Key Features

    • Engineering at Macquarie is built around a project-based professional development spine, which allows you to gain practical, hands-on experience and collaborate on projects with your fellow students.
    • In addition to developing your knowledge and skills in core electronics engineering concepts, you’ll have the opportunity to choose additional bundles of electives to boost your career prospects. These electives will be formally recognised and will show employers you have depth of knowledge in areas that interest you the most.
    • You’ll have access to our new cutting-edge engineering facilities, including collaborative learning spaces.
    • From your second year, you’ll have the opportunity to utilise our award-winning PACE (Professional and Community Engagement) program to complete an internship or work placement with one of our industry partners, or with one of our research groups working on analogue and digital electronic devices, circuits and systems.
    • Macquarie has close links with a number of public and private sector organisations such as BAE Systems, Cochlear, Optus and Honeywell, leading to internships and graduate opportunities.
    • You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with extracurricular student-led activities, such as MQ Speed and Macquarie Orbital.
    • Your learning experience will be enhanced by our location in Australia’s largest high-tech precinct, which is brimming with collaborative, internship, and employment opportunities.
    • This degree is accredited by Engineers Australia.
