Studying in the area of moving image and sound studies provides you with a combination of theoretical and technical skills that you can apply to a wide range of careers in the creative industries. It’s ideal for those passionate about telling a story – through sound, film or other visual media – and understanding how culture and the evolving media environment influences the story that’s told. 

This major focuses on developing your practical skills in visual media, film, screen, image production, moving image editing and sound. You’ll acquire a strong technical knowledge, which you can put into practice by presenting diverse productions related to the field. You’ll also build your research, creativity and critical analysis skills, and evaluate research practices and productions in order to make sociocultural and academic judgements.

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications:

• A recognised senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination
• A recognised university Foundation course
• A recognised 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
• At least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution
