The Master of Finance and Banking (Advanced) is designed to provide students with design-led problem-solving skills, industry-based work experience. Students learn research methodology and techniques. They also complete an industry-based project in finance and banking, through which they learn the skills and knowledge to undertake design-led research. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to gain specialised finance and banking knowledge through research. It is ideal for students who wish to progress to a PhD or professional doctorate with the goal of obtaining employment in financial analysis, banking research or higher education.

Graduates may be eligible for membership of the Financial Planning Association, Finance and Treasury Association and Financial Services Institute of Australasia. They may also be eligible to pursue global professional credentials such as the Chartered Financial Analyst program and charter.

Successful completion of the program can lead to a wide range of career opportunities, including corporate finance, treasury management, banking, investment banking, financial planning and funds management.
