AU25 Master of Education (First Nations Education Practice Specialisation) Queensland University of Technology
The First Nations Education Practice Specialisation enables teachers and educators to learn about First Nations perspectives and education and to design localised learning experiences for their own teaching contexts. This specialisation investigates the nuances of curriculum, the strengths of pedagogical approaches and strategies for collaborative practice to assist educators to develop purposeful and responsive learning experiences centred around First Nations perspectives. You will:
Graduates of the Master of Education with the First Nations Education Practice specialisation will be equipped to enhance the learning of all their students, confidently meet First Nations education Australian Professional Standards for Teaching requirements and become leaders in collaborative First Nations education practice. Graduates can contribute to broader policy and community initiatives to progress positive outcomes for First Nations peoples. You’ll be ready to design learning experiences that embed First Nations perspectives in curriculum and through pedagogy.
Early exit
You can exit with a Graduate Certificate in Education (First Nations Education Practice) if you have completed the four specialisation units. You can exit the course with a Graduate Certificate in Education following completion of any four masters units.
Research pathways
If you are interested in pursuing higher degree research it is recommended that you include 48 credit points of research units to build your capabilities.
