The Bachelor of Business Administration will help you become a highly adaptive graduate.
You’ll be cross-skilled in various areas of business, be ready to work in a dynamic environment, and pivot to the needs of industry. You’ll also be aware of global trends and prepared for employment in all sectors, with a diverse skillset that employers will value.
The course provides a distinct student experience. You’ll identify your preferred areas of business and develop a personalised plan that will guide you throughout your degree, helping you develop a portfolio of skills and capabilities that strategically align with your career goals.
In your final year, you’ll undertake a Capstone Experience.
Study our foundation units
The course starts with a business foundation year, where you will explore value creation in business, learn to use financial information to make informed and responsible decisions, and develop your business intelligence and analytical capabilities to interpret data in a meaningful way.
Following this, you’ll complete management foundation units aligned to global trends. You’ll develop skills across marketing, finance, human resources, project management and strategic management.
Specialise in your favourite areas
In addition to the core curriculum, you’ll study two business specialisations, plus a choice of another business specialisation or a minor from outside the business discipline, to suit your aspirations.
This is intended to enhance your marketability when you graduate.
* Choose your Capstone Experience
In your final year, you’ll not only complete units relevant to your chosen major – you will also undertake a Capstone Experience* to further your practical skills and international business knowledge.
You’ll have a choice of four Capstone Experiences:
Business Engagement
You’ll apply your entrepreneurial skills, business ideas and out-of-the-box thinking to a real business environment, improving your employability.
Business Innovation Lab
You’ll use your initiative, creativity and adaptability as you work on an applied business project within a start-up environment.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will solve a problem or advance an innovation while demonstrating your managerial judgement, professional communications and commitment to responsible business practice.
Industry Internship
You’ll have the opportunity to gain work experience with an external employer or work on a real industry project related to your area of study, in Australia or internationally. These projects have defined objectives, with activities a graduate in that role would be expected to complete.

Global Experience
You can gain international experience through an international study tour or exchange, or by studying part of your degree at a different Curtin campus.
Past students have also gained experience working in human resources at a luxury resort in the Maldives, as well as other working opportunities in China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
