This course develops originality and independence of thought and trains students in research.
The course aims to broaden your knowledge and expose you to the latest developments in biomedical research.
Project topics are developed in conjunction with a potential supervisor, and cover a large array of potential fields of research.

Graduates from honours have a more fully developed and more complex set of research skills that make them more attractive to employers. Graduates with first or upper-second-class honours are also eligible for direct entry into PhD programs.
Professional recognition
This course is a continuation from the undergraduate Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) course, which is accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists, and graduates are eligible to apply for Associate Membership.
Graduates may be suited to careers in research relating to most biological sciences, they could seek work in industry (product or platform specialists, specialist sales), in the health-care system (diagnostics, counselling) or enter the education or journalism sector.
In addition to the discipline specific skills, generic skills such as scientific writing, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking, make our graduates suitable for many non-science careers.
Graduates may qualify for entry to graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, master by coursework and research degrees and doctorates.
