AU35 Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sport Science) Curtin University
In this course, you'll gain theoretical and practical understanding of exercise and sports physiology, biomechanics, motor control, motor learning and skill acquisition, and exercise and sports psychology.
The emphasis on client-centred practice will help you develop strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
In your first year, you'll learn the foundations of exercise science and study interprofessional units with students from other health disciplines. In your second and third years, you’ll specialise in exercise and sports science, and undertake laboratory practice and fieldwork.
You'll develop practical skills by completing a 140 hour professional placement in a relevant organisation. Curtin has partnerships with Fremantle Football Club and Hockey Australia, so you could find yourself working alongside some of Australia's top athletes.
Exercise and Sport Science is a degree which offers enormous opportunities to pursue a wide variety of careers or undertake postgraduate study to specialise in areas such as clinical exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, health and physical education, sports science, research and tertiary education.
If you are a high-achieving student, you may complete an additional honours year that enables you to undertake your own significant research project.
