AU35 Master of Advanced Engineering Curtin University

  • THÔNG TIN CHUNG

This course will enhance your knowledge and skills in engineering, research, management, and engineering design and equip you with the advanced engineering professional capabilities required in an increasingly complex global environment.

The Master of Advanced Engineering is a 12 month course that provides graduates who hold a four-year accredited qualification in engineering (i.e. BEng-Hons) an opportunity to pursue advanced study within their engineering discipline. It is designed for students with first class or 2A Honours, to allow high-calibre students to distinguish themselves from the competition and take the first step in becoming a future industry leader.

You will develop advanced research skills and become proficient with a diverse range of research methodologies. You will also develop the entrepreneurial skills that are essential for engineers in a commercial setting.

You can choose to study one of three streams: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Renewable Energy Systems.

    Chemical Engineering Stream (STRP-CHEMG)

This stream is suitable for all graduate engineers working in the mineral, energy and water resources industries, especially those who are practising as process engineers and managers. It will equip you with knowledge and skills in areas of new product conceptualisation, development and commercialisation, process simulation and integration, advanced data analysis and research communication.

Specifically, it covers advanced technical material on complex flow modelling, flow assurance in oil and gas processes, fuel cell technology, and biofuels and biochemical production.

    Mechanical Engineering Stream (STRP-MCENG)

As a graduate mechanical engineer, this stream will advance your technical knowledge in a range of discipline-related subjects, provide exposure to professional practice and commercial awareness, while also enhancing your research skills and ways of thinking.

For new graduates, this stream offers a range of advanced topics to prepare you for a career in industry or as a researcher, through the specialist units delivered by leading researchers. For graduates already in the workforce, it provides an opportunity to upskill and earn a higher-level Engineering qualification.

    Renewable Energy Systems Stream (STRP-RENEW)

This stream is suitable for all graduate students with an electrical power undergraduate degree and focuses on the most commonly available renewable energy sources and storage solutions, and how they can be integrated into existing power systems and future smart grids. New generation technologies such as fuel cells and smart grid enabling technologies such as wireless communication networks are also covered in this stream. Students graduating from this stream will be equipped with the much sought after engineering knowledge to solve complex engineering challenges in the renewable energy field.
