As a speech-language therapist you’ll facilitate independence in individuals. You’ll assess people with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders, and work with them to improve their ability to participate in school, work and other daily activities. Whether you’re working with children who have speech and/or language disorders, or adults living with a traumatic brain injury or stroke, you’ll have an impact on people’s quality of life.

Gain practical experience

Massey’s Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy with Honours combines academic coursework with supervised clinical experience. You’ll work alongside practising speech-language therapists to gain clinical hours in a wide range of settings such as schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, child development services and community settings across New Zealand.
