The Graduate Certificate in Science and Technology allows you to update your knowledge and skills in an area similar to that in which you graduated (or work in).

The Graduate Certificate in Science and Technology enables graduates to study another subject area without completing a second bachelor’s degree. The Graduate Certificate is a bridging tool for graduates to gain knowledge in a specific area of sciences, so they can go on to postgraduate study.

So it is used primarily as a ‘pathway’ to help you complete subjects you need to enter a postgraduate qualification.

A fast pathway

The GCertScTech gives you a relatively quick stepping stone to postgraduate study if you do not have the necessary pre-requisites.

Entry into the programme requires you to have a relevant bachelor degree, or equivalent, or be accepted as having equivalent status to a university graduate on the basis of equivalent relevant professional experience. You will also need to have a background adequate for the courses you wish to study. If you do not have the necessary background for the courses then pre-requisite courses are available in the Certificate in Science and Technology. Passes in suitable courses from other universities will be accepted instead of the prescribed Massey University courses.
