Mechanical engineers use their skills and knowledge in maths and science to design and manufacture new technology that functions efficiently and reliably at an optimised cost. Almost all products have a requirement of a mechanical engineer: from mobile phones, to medical devices to a Formula 1 racing cars. Mechanical engineers are also developing the next generation of environmentally friendly materials and devices for renewable energy sources.
